The story behind Alanya
Mass tourism came to Alanya in the late 1980's. Large luxury hotels were built, the clothing industry was streamlined and charter companies led up Alanya as one of the hottest summer destinations. Much has happened since then. Today, Alanya is a place known for fine football fields, a poor population and a vibrant nightlife. Alanya residents have tried to provide the town's reputation as the world's best party destination, without completely succeeded. And the reason is quite simple.
Scared off
Many Western women feel simply at home in the Turkish seaside resort. It's become so bad that Turkish men in the 50 years of age visit clubs where they know that there are 16-20 year old girls with blonde hair and what otherwise would be tempted.
Intrusive and disruptive behavior can lead to a flat refusal, which often is reflected in the rapes. There is no other party destinations that are close to the number of rapes each year Alanya.
